brdl

BRDL is a Wordle variant for bird enthusiasts in which only bird names can be used to complete the problem each day. It differs from Wordle in that the mystery word does not have to be five letters long. Alex Tomilson, a well-known graphic designer, created it. Wordle enthusiasts are in for a new challenge. The banding codes in this game can be difficult to decipher.

Wordle is a word guessing game that has taken the Internet by storm and amassed millions of daily users in just three months, so you've probably heard of it if you're a word geek. If you like birds and are a word nerd, there is a game for you. Audubon graphic artist Alex Tomlinson created the BRDL game to test players' understanding of the four-letter banding codes that scientists use as a shorthand for species names (such as MODO for mourning dove or GREG for great egret).

The game's popularity has grown, prompting the development of a British-only variant that employs different codes. This is completely incredible, Tomlinson told Audubon. "I had no idea such a thing existed," the author asserts.
