NYT Digits

What is NYT Digits?

The New York Times created and published the math-based video game Digits. In each of the five problems that are presented to the players every day, they are given six numbers to add, subtract, multiply, or divide in order to arrive at the target number. Once a number has been used, it cannot be used in the same way again.

Game Rules

Just like in the New York Times edition, the regulations are straightforward. There are 5 riddles for you to solve every day. Each challenge features a target number that must be produced using mathematical calculations, as well as six possible starting numbers. The six numbers can be used just once each, despite the fact that each mathematical process produces a new number.

Once you've finished the first problem, use the upper tabs to move on to the next.

Scoring

For each task, there are a maximum of three stars:
If you hit the target, you are awarded three stars.
You will be given a rating of two stars if your score is within 10 points of the aim.
You get one star if your total is within 25 points of the objective.
