Semantle

What is Semantle?

Semantle is an offshoot of the popular word game Wordle. The premise is similar to that of most alternatives, but in this game you are looking for words that are similar! If you're looking for a solution to the game 6/22/22, look no further than this guide. It will present you with a new puzzle every day. You can try it out after midnight by visiting the Semantle website!

Semantle's experience is anything but welcoming in comparison to Wordle's bright colors, refined user interface, relatively short learning curve, and multiplatform accessibility.

Game Rules

While the idea of guessing the "correct" word is similar, the answer can be any length of letters. Word2Vec, the Google-owned underlying technology that powers the game, generates a number that represents how close the word's meaning is (a.k.a. how close it is semantically — hence the name) to the solution based on the platform's understanding of language. It also includes a "Getting close?" indicator, which indicates whether the temperature is "hot" or "cold."

When you first launch it, you're greeted with a wall of text explaining the rules, a similarity score indicating how close the algorithm believes your guess is to that day's secret word contextually, and an infinite number of possible wrong answers that can quickly crush your confidence.

According to the rules of this game, a player's guess is given a rank if it is one of the closest 1,000 normal words to the target. You're "cold" if you're not. According to the game's instructions, "normal" here refers to words from the extensive list of English words that Semantle uses to generate its daily solution at random.

Given the difficulty of the daily puzzle, players frequently express their frustration or exhaustion while attempting to solve it on social media forums such as Reddit, before expressing their excitement for the next day's challenge.
